Spin Theory was conceived, made and exhibited by Daniel von Sturmer and Andy Thomson. The work was commissioned by Tyler Cann (Len Lye Curator-at-Large Govett-Brewster Contemporary Art Museum and Curator, Icon Gallery Birmingham UK) for the exhibition Old Genes: Artists Reading Len Lye, held at the Govett-Brewster Contemporary Art Museum. This sculpture aims to confound cause and effect relationships using animated 'effects' created from the 'facts' of moving objects within the fabric of the work.
